Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Clinical Abstractor (L3 Level) to support chart review activities for our US Pharma & Life Sciences client. As a Clinical Abstractor, you will be responsible for reviewing patient charts, extracting relevant clinical information, and abstracting data into a structured format that can be utilized for regulatory, clinical, or research purposes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical data, and healthcare records, with an ability to interpret complex clinical information accurately. Familiarity with healthcare systems and data abstraction tools is a plus. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: Chart Review & Data Extraction: o Review patient charts to extract clinical data, including diagnoses, medications, treatment regimens, medical procedures, and outcomes. o Ensure accurate and consistent abstraction of relevant data from medical records, adhering to specific protocols and standards. o Identify and highlight key clinical trends or information relevant to research or regulatory needs. Data Quality Assurance: o Maintain a high level of data accuracy and consistency when transferring information from patient charts to databases or electronic systems. o Address discrepancies or gaps in chart data by collaborating with clinical staff or querying medical records when needed. o Ensure data meets client-specific quality control standards. Collaboration: o Work closely with project managers, clinical teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless data flow and effective communication. o Provide timely updates on progress, potential issues, and outcomes related to chart reviews. Documentation & Reporting: o Document all chart review processes and maintain organized records of reviewed data. o Assist in generating reports summarizing key findings and insights from chart reviews, as required by the client. Compliance & Confidentiality: o Adhere to all relevant privacy regulations, including HIPAA and client-specific guidelines, to ensure confidentiality of patient information. o Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and clinical guidelines to ensure compliance with industry regulations. Qualifications: Education: o Bachelors degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Health Information Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Experience: o Previous experience as a Clinical Abstractor, Medical Records Reviewer, or similar role in a healthcare setting is highly preferred. o Familiarity with chart review processes and clinical trial data management is a plus. o Experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry is a significant advantage. Skills: o Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical workflows, and healthcare data management. o Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems, medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT), quality databases (e.g., HEDIS, STS) and data abstraction software. o Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. o Strong written and verbal communication skills. Certifications (preferred but not required): o Certified Clinical Research Associate (CCRA), Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA), or similar certifications are a plus,
