General Accountant

Job Summary:
The General Accountant will manage all aspects of the company’s financial transactions, including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and management information system (MIS) reporting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience using Odoo ERP for full-cycle accounting and will play a key role in ensuring financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a remote environment are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable: Manage the entire accounts receivable process, including invoicing, payment tracking, managing customer accounts, and ensuring timely collections, especially with various online payment systems (e.g., PayPal, credit cards).
Accounts Payable: Oversee the accounts payable process, including the review and processing of vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate records of payables.
General Ledger: Record journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and ensure accurate financial reporting for month-end close and other reporting periods
Month-End Close: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in a timely manner.
MIS Reporting: Prepare and analyze management reports, providing insights into the company's financial performance and key metrics (e.g., revenue, cost of goods sold, margins).
Financial Reconciliations: Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
E-commerce Financial Operations: Manage e-commerce-related financial processes, including sales, refunds, transaction fees, and inventory management, ensuring seamless integration between accounting and e-commerce platforms.
Compliance & Documentation: Maintain financial documentation in accordance with company policies and industry standards, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
ERP Systems Management: Utilize Odoo ERP for financial operations, including transaction entry, reporting, and reconciling accounts within the system.
Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and suggest solutions to streamline financial operations and improve efficiency.
Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team and other departments to resolve financial discrepancies and provide necessary financial information for various business functions.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in a full-cycle accounting role, with expertise in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger management.

· Proven experience working with Odoo ERP, including transaction entry, reporting, and reconciliation.

· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

· Experience in the e-commerce sector, including familiarity with online payment systems, transaction fees, and sales tax in different jurisdictions.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.

· Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a remote environment.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with management reporting, including the preparation and analysis of MIS reports.
Solid understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.

· Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy in all financial processes.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
Familiarity with US tax compliance and reporting.
Experience in a fast-paced, growing company environment.
