Serverless Application Developer (Java) – Contract

Job Overview: We’re hiring an experienced AWS Serverless Application Developer with strong Java skills to join our team. In this remote contract role, you will design, build, and deploy high-performing serverless applications using AWS technologies like Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB. If you are passionate about cloud-native solutions and event-driven architectures, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deploy serverless applications using AWS services, including AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3.
Implement backend logic and APIs using Java for scalable and reliable serverless applications.
Create and manage workflows using AWS Step Functions, SNS, and SQS.
Write Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates with AWS CloudFormation or Terraform for automated deployments.
Optimize applications for performance and cost within a serverless architecture.
Implement security best practices, focusing on IAM, encryption, and secure data handling.
Set up CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment and monitoring of serverless applications.
Collaborate closely with product and frontend teams to deliver robust solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in backend development with Java and object-oriented programming.
Proven experience building and deploying serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3.
Familiarity with event-driven architectures and RESTful API design.
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
Strong understanding of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) and cloud security best practices.
Knowledge of CI/CD tools like AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions for serverless deployments.
Problem-solving skills, with experience in optimizing serverless functions for performance and cost.
